Description

Registration to attend the Symposium opens soon to all interested MCQST, MQV and IMPRS members ! Register here.

Join us at Quantum Talents Symposium Munich – an Innovation Hub where talent meets opportunities.

The symposium is jointly organized by several organizations of the Munich quantum ecosystem:

  • Munich Quantum Valley (MQV),
  • Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST),
  • International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology (IMPRS-QST),
  • Women in Quantum Optics Postdoctoral Program (WiQO) of the Max Plank Institute of Quantum Optics.

The event is designed as a platform for showcasing groundbreaking research in quantum science and for scientific exchange among talented early-career quantum researchers. Each symposium has a different theme, and this year our focus is quantum computing.

Our mission is to facilitate knowledge sharing, inspire collaboration, and promote career opportunities in quantum science, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

Focus Theme:

This year's symposium will focus on quantum computing. Applications research should discuss the development, operation and / or applications of quantum computers. Applications should be relevant to the focus theme to have a chance of success in receiving an invitation to attend as a finalist.

Attending the symposium:

Interested members of the quantum community, including MQV, MCQST and IMPRS, are invited to attend the Symposium! Registration opens at the end of September.

Register here!

Registration is required for organizational purposes and is binding, since you will be counted for catering costs. Note that participants who are not finalists should cover their own travel arrangements and expenses.

All participants will be welcomed and encouraged to present a poster. The poster session will take place on 25 November. You will be able to mark this option and fill out the information on your poster contribution directly on the registration form for participants.

Symposium Agenda:

  • Two days of scientific talks
  • Conference Dinner on November 25
  • Poster session
  • Labtours and meetings
  • Opportunity for prizes

Call for Applications (NOW CLOSED):

We invite applications from outstanding and driven early-career researchers who work in the field of quantum computing to be awarded special recognition as a symposium finalist. Specifically, we invite:

  • PhD students in their 3rd year and above,
  • Postdocs with up to two years of experience.

Applicants must demonstrate their contribution to the field with at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal (physics, chemistry, mathematics) OR published contributions in top-tier conferences with full papers in the field (computer science, engineering).

Selection Criteria for Finalists:

Selected applicants will be invited to give a talk at the symposium and will receive support for their travel costs. Our selection process prioritizes academic excellence and exceptional research potential. Finalists will be selected on three key criteria: scientific excellence, scientific vision, and our commitment to diversity in quantum research.

All other applicants will be invited to attend as a participant, at their own arrangement and expense, and given the opportunity to present a poster.

In case of questions, please feel free to contact us at quantum-talents-munich@mcqst.de.
