Applications for the Quantum Talents Symposium will be open until 1 July 2026. Apply here!
Join us at Quantum Talents Symposium Munich – an Innovation Hub where talent meets opportunities.
The symposium is jointly organized by several organizations of the Munich quantum ecosystem:
- Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST),
- Munich Quantum Valley (MQV),
- International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology (IMPRS-QST)
The event is designed as a platform for showcasing groundbreaking research in quantum science and technology, and for scientific exchange among talented early-career quantum researchers. The program now also includes a research stay for the finalists as well as the two-day symposium.
Our mission is to facilitate knowledge sharing, inspire collaboration, and promote career opportunities in quantum science, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Quantum Talents Program:
- Symposium with two days of conference
- Research stay of three days after the symposium
- Invited scientific talks by finalists
- Flash talks from Munich quantum community
- Conference Dinner on October 27
- Poster session
- Labtours and meetings
- Opportunity for prizes
Call for Applications - Eligibility:
We invite applications from outstanding and driven early-career researchers who work in the field of quantum science and technology to be awarded special recognition as a symposium finalist. Specifically, we invite:
- PhD students in their 3rd year and above,
- Postdocs with up to two years of experience.
Applicants must demonstrate their contribution to the field with at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal (physics, chemistry, mathematics) OR published contributions in top-tier conferences with full papers in the field (computer science, engineering).
Selection Criteria for Finalists:
Selected applicants will be invited to give a talk at the symposium as well as a three-day research stay with a Munich group of their choice, and will receive support for their travel & accommodation costs.
Our selection process prioritizes academic excellence and exceptional research potential. Finalists will be selected on three key criteria: scientific excellence, scientific vision, and commitment to diversity in quantum research.
All other applicants will be invited to attend as a participant, at their own arrangement and expense, and given the opportunity to present a poster.
Attending the symposium:
Interested members of the quantum community, including MCQST, MQV and IMPRS, are invited to attend the Symposium! Registration will open in September.
Note that participants who are not finalists should cover their own travel arrangements and expenses. Registration is required for organizational purposes and is binding, since you will be counted for catering costs.
All participants will be welcomed and encouraged to contribute in the form of flash talks and posters.
